You must have a fishing license to fish in Los Cabos. You can obtain a Mexican sportfishing license from the Mexican fisheries department and it will cost you $8 for a day or $25 for a month. To purchase a license before your trip, you can contact the Mexico Department of Fisheries at
The Mexican government does have limitations set, however, and each fisherman is allowed 10 fish per day, no more than 5 of any one species. Catch and release is greatly encouraged. However, if you do want to take you fish back home with you, California customs allows import of fish for personal consumption and you must show your legal take to customs inspectors at the border.
